You may not be aware but we are entirely funded by donations – our volunteers spend considerable time generating that funding by fundraising at supermarkets, train stations, summer fete’s, swimathons and many other activities throughout the year. With the current restrictions we have had to curtail all of these efforts, whilst we have also been pressed in to operating 24/7 providing vital sample transfers, handling equipment movements and supporting the NHS in the battle against Covid-19 as well as our regular mission of getting blood and related blood products to where they need to be in during the night. All of these donations go directly on the running of our fleet of bikes and cars that are used to carry out the work of the charity.
